Alternately, fans would likely be thrilled by another side-scrolling Metroid in the style of Metroid: Samus Returns. Although unlikely to come true, it's possible that Nintendo could revive development on Metroid Dread , the cancelled follow-up to the beloved Metroid Fusion.
